BOARD ROLES:
General Board Member- All members of the Board agree to the responsibilities of a General Board member.
Co-Chair- Leadership position on the Board responsible for organizing the boards activities and ensuring the effective functioning of the Board.
Secretary- Administrative position on the Board responsible for taking meeting notes and ensuring clear communication across Board activities.
Treasurer- Fiduciary officer on the Board responsible for stewarding the organizations financial health along with staff.
HR Representative- Consulting position on the Board responsible for stewarding the organizations legal compliancy and people-centered practices.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are especially interested in connecting with neighbors in Greenmount West, Johnston Square, Oliver, and nearby neighborhoods.

The first board term is 2 year, with the option to re-apply for up to two more two-year terms (6 total years).
Invitations will be made by the current board and staff.
Who We Are
We are a fun-loving, creative, energetic group of 5 staff and about 100 volunteers and teachers with deeply-held values. We have more than 1,400 members and hundreds more learners and visitors each year. SNTL is committed to access, equity, and doing things the right way, not the easy way.
We envision a board that enjoys each other’s company, uses values-based consensus to make decisions, and is continuously learning from one another.

The Process
Join our mailing list (above) to get specific info about our upcoming Board Interest Meeting and application to join the board. Applications will open on April 1st, 2026, and close on May 13th. Applications will be reviewed with the potential to move forward to an interview stage. Selected Board members will begin their term in July 26’ with onboarding occurring in late June.
