Who We Are
We are a fun-loving, creative, energetic group of 4 staff and about 100 volunteers and teachers with deeply-held values. We have more than 1,400 members and hundreds more learners and visitors each year. SNTL is committed to access, equity, and doing things the right way, not the easy way.
We envision a board that enjoys each other’s company, uses values-based consensus to make decisions, and is continuously learning from one another.
What some of our past members have said about serving:
“It makes meaning in my life to have this community and be connected to other people who share values. It feels really good when we take steps forward and get things done.”
“I love the level of personal experience people bring to this group.”
“I care about Baltimore; the Tool Library has a lot of potential to support the residents of our city“
“This is a chance to model positive alternatives to traditional nonprofit structure. It’s a great balance of ideology and putting things into practice.”
“There is a lot getting done and it makes me proud to be a part of it!”
