WOODEN UTENSILS
Freestyle woodworking; no measurements, no rules (other than safety,) and no previous experience necessary! Go home with an amazing and useful object that YOU made and you will have completed the requirements of our Shop Safety class as well!

Get hands on instruction with shop machinery and leave with a custom crafted serving board that YOU made! As a private class, this class fulfills the Shop Safety prerequisite for all of our other woodworking classes.

Beeswax Candles
Learn how to make dipped beeswax candles! We will go over the basics of how to handle and care for beeswax, prepare wick for dipping, and the general techniques on how to build up the body of the candle. Participants will leave with multiple sets of candles!

BLOCK PRINTING
Print your own designs using an age-old technique of carving away a material to create a stamp! Linoleum is a fun and easy material to carve that allows you to quickly make multiple prints! In class, students will learn how to transfer drawings to their 4"x6" linoleum block and carve the block to practice printing using water-based inks. No drawing skills necessary, there will be tracing options available, but students are encouraged to bring in their own designs.

SOAP MAKING
Learn the basics of cold process soap making using lye and fixed oils. We'll go over vocabulary, an easy way to adapt soaping formula, and how to make soap with two different bases: water and coconut milk. Get creative experimenting with natural & synthetic colorants, essential oils, exfoliating mix-ins, and topping decorations. You'll go home with about a pound of your own high-quality handmade soap!

Natural Dyeing
Learn to naturally dye silk + cotton using 2 methods of natural dyeing: bundle dying + dip dyeing! Using a variety of dried flowers, roots, bark, and even bugs, students will print natural materials onto silk by rolling, tying, and steaming bundles of their own design. While their bundles are steaming, students will learn about the process of dip dyeing and how to create patterns with methods of folding.

When can we schedule?
Private classes must be scheduled at least 4 weeks in advance. Typically, classes take 3-4 hours.
Most private classes are scheduled during the day during the week or evenings on Friday or Saturday. Depending on teacher availability and our existing class schedule, we may have additional options.

Fill out the form below and we'll get your booking started! Please note that we require a 50% deposit to secure your date when the contract is signed. The deposit is only good for that date and becomes non-refundable exactly 30 days prior to your workshop date.
Once you have booked and made your deposit
You’ll receive a link to an online registration page. Your participants can either pay us directly, or sign up without payment if you prefer to bring one check.
If you have participants under 18, they will need to bring a waiver form signed by a parent or guardian.
