Become a Teacher with SNTL

The Station North Tool Library is committed to fostering a space in which all skills can be shared. We offer a wide range of classes with varying curriculum to empower people to become active participants in their own education. One of the best ways to learn is to teach! At the Library we are always looking for new people to take on teaching roles to supplement the classes we currently offer or to pioneer new classes. We do not require a degree to teach at the Library and structure teacher onboarding to be as accommodating to a new teacher as possible.

Logstics & Details

Currently, classes are offered in our three main teaching spaces: the Wood Shop, the Craft/Repair Classroom, and the Knife Shop. We also have outdoor space available and are open to off-site classes when partnering with other organizations.

Classes are offered either once a month, once every other month, quarterly (seasonally), or as a one-time workshop. The frequency of the class is dependent on instructor availability, demand, and Library capacity to host the class.

We pay instructors $25/ hour for teaching as well as up to two hours of prep and clean-up time per session. Curriculum development stipends are offered for new classes.
